RAGDALE HALL - March 2026

My recent visit to Ragdale Hall Spa was a special treat after I had received two vouchers from the Leicester Myeloma Patients’ Charity for a Harmony Day.

This meant that I could take my daughter with me as she has been a great help since my diagnosis.

We arrived on a very damp and dreary Friday morning but once we were inside the Hall that was forgotten because of the warm welcome. We were taken through to the lounge where we were offered drinks and had a brief introduction to the Spa facilities along with a timetable for the day. It was all very relaxed and having finished our drinks we headed to the Spa to collect our robes and towels.

We decided to go in the swimming pool to begin with where I left my daughter to do the lengths whilst I did shorter distances. The water was warm and left us feeling relaxed. After a while we headed to the roof infinity pool where we could float in the warm waters overlooking countryside.

It was then time to head to our treatments on the aqua massage bed, a 20-minute session which involved lying on a waterbed while heated pressure water jets massaged our backs. It was a strange feeling to start but I then relaxed as it sounded like being near the sea! It came to an end too quickly but left us feeling very calm and relaxed.

We then went to the Veranda bar as we were given a specific time for lunch. We had the option of two courses, and we choose a main course, I had sea bream and my daughter had salmon on ciabatta, and desert! Of course, we also decided to have a glass of bubbly to celebrate the day. It was such a relaxing meal.

Afterwards we headed to the spa rooms for further relaxation! I liked the candle spa room where it was so quiet and we could float in the warm waters. The other room we enjoyed was the steam room where we could sit and quietly unwind. It was finally time to go into the thermal pool which took us outside and we could pause in different spaces where the thermal jets massaged our backs. We had booked onto a late exercise class in the pool but decided it might be too much after all our relaxation!! Instead, we rounded off the day with a complimentary drink enjoyed peacefully in the Veranda Bar, before deciding we should head home.

The generosity of the Leicester Myeloma Patients Charity has given me a wonderful experience enjoying a relaxing day with my daughter. Whilst there my thoughts did go to Anne, her late husband and the charity.
